Yin Yoga Teacher Training – Module II

Module II – 50 hours:

Prerequisite: having completed module I of this teacher training.

In module II, students will have access to the fundamental teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its relationship to yin yoga asanas, and with it, be able to plan specific classes for each meridian pair (eg.: kidney and urinary bladder, liver and gall bladder, stomach and spleen).

Yin yang practices as per taught by Paul and Suzee Grilley will also be part of the classes, as well as anatomy and asanas for the upper body. In addition, with the contemplative basis from module I, students will deepen their understanding related to meditation theory and practice, to enable to guide such practices.

What is covered on module II:

  • – Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) basic theory.
  • – Yin yoga asanas related to TCM.
  • – In-depth understanding of contemplative practices.
  • – Anatomy and skeletal variation tests of upper body.
  • – Yin yang practices.

 

Typical daily schedule:

09:00 – 09:30am – meditation
09:30 – 10:45am – meditation theory
11:00 – 12:00pm – practice
02:00 – 04:00pm – TCM, asanas/ anatomy
04:30 – 06:00pm – meditation and practice

Guest Teachers:

Jeanne Pilli

Holds a graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PharmD) by the University of Sao Paulo. Jeanne is a certified yoga instructor through IEPY (Marcos Rojo). She is a student of Buddhism since 2000 and the translator of Alan Wallace, Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo and Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche in Brazil as well as the translator of their books. In 2013 has received certification as a CEB (Cultivating Emotional Balance) teacher, program created by Alan Wallace and Dr. Paul Ekman, through the Santa Barbara Institute for Consciousness Studies. And in 2017 has been authorised to teach the CEB program in Brazil and coordinates the post-grad studies on Emotional Management in Organisations at Einstein Institute of Teaching & Research. Jeanne will be teaching the theory of meditation as well as guiding the practices throughout the training.

Patricia Mitie Setani

Has graduated in arts and design by FAAP and UCLA. She holds a degree in masotherapy and acupuncture from Espaço Ki, Ebramec, Okido, Sol Institute and Shinkyu Dojoh, working in the area since 2010. Patricia is a certified yoga instructor through IEPY (Marcos Rojo) and has studied applied anatomy through Santa Casa. Patricia will be teaching the fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Medicine throughout the training.

To receive the certificate at the end of the training, the student must attend 90% of contact hours and complete all non-contact hours assignments throughout the training. This teacher training is registered with Yoga Alliance as a continuing education provider for 50hours.

Dates for 2021:

Florianópolis – 6 saturdays (online: 22nd & 29th may, 26th june, 3rd e 31st july, 7th august) + 1 weekend (in-person:  28th & 29th august).
